Embracing the birth with confidence Online Prenatal Sessions - Prepare for a serene and enlightened birth These three small-group online prenatal sessions are designed to prepare you for every stage of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. Offered in English, French and Spanish, with special attention paid to the diversity of birth experiences. Here's what you'll learn in these 3 sessions: Phases and numbers related to childbirth: - Understand the different stages of labor (from Braxton-Hicks to expulsion of the placenta). - Understanding the terms: effacement, dilation and station of the baby. Pain management; natural and medical: - Breathing techniques, positions and massages for a smooth and soothed labor. - Understanding the way hormones work Medical interventions: - Explanation of medical protocols and intervention choices during childbirth. - Pharmacological options and alternatives. The role of the partner and the importance of support: - How the partner can play an essential role during labor and delivery. - Mental and emotional support techniques. Postpartum preparation and nutrition (in all its forms): - Mental and physical health after birth, including coming home. - The basics: skin-to-skin and baby feeding. These sessions give you the knowledge and tools you need to experience a confident birth, while being well-informed about possible medical decisions.
