Scope of services

The agreement covers the pregnancy period up to six weeks postpartum, from the date of signing. Clients may request a contract amendment before the 35th week of pregnancy, subject to applicable fees, subject to confirmation by DoulasLove. After the 35th week, no amendments will be accepted, and the financial agreement must be respected.

At DoulasLove, we share our passion for supporting all types of families. We believe that the presence of a doula brings gentleness and serenity to parents. Therefore, a percentage of each contract is dedicated to providing pro bono services, allowing pregnant people in difficult financial situations to benefit from our support.

Customers who subscribe to our services participate in this donation by default and can be happy to know that they are helping to make a difference.

For related services, the agreement remains valid for the duration of the service, with a portion allocated to the pro bono program.

Fees

Fees are calculated based on the total of services accumulated in accordance with the services selected by the client(s).

Any additional services required or requested by the client(s) must be invoiced by DoulasLove.

All amounts are in CAD currency and do not include sales taxes (GST/QST), which will be charged extra.

Payment installments will be made as follows:

– 1st payment: 35% of the total amount of the service choices upon signing the contract,

– 2nd payment: 35% of the total amount of the service choices at the 25th week of pregnancy,

– 3rd payment: 30% of the total amount of the service choices at the 35th week of pregnancy.

For all related services, fees must be paid before booking the service.

Responsibilities

Lack of medical diagnosis
The doula (therapist or consultant) does not make any diagnosis or perform any medical procedures. She is not a doctor, midwife, or nurse. All medical decisions are made exclusively by the attending physician and/or the parents.

Home birth
In the case of a home birth, the doula does not assume a medical role. Her intervention is limited to physical, mental, and emotional support. If an unassisted birth (UAB) is planned, a consent document must be signed by the parent(s) before the service is provided.

Travel time
A travel time of approximately one and a half hours must be taken into account during the delivery period.

DoulasLove Commitment
DoulasLove undertakes to provide its services diligently and in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. All other warranties are excluded, with the exception of public policy warranties provided for by law.

DoulasLove cannot be held liable for any indirect damages suffered by the client(s). DoulasLove's maximum liability for any direct damages related to this agreement shall in no event exceed the total amount paid by the client(s) for the services provided.

Confidentiality and Non-Solicitation

Confidentiality of information
Any proprietary documentation or process of DoulasLove is considered intellectual property and confidential information. The client(s) agree to respect and maintain this confidentiality.

Non-solicitation
The client(s) agree not to directly or indirectly solicit DoulasLove staff (including any doula) during the term of the agreement as well as for a period of two years after the end of the agreement.
