Service Description

Relevailles: The immediate postpartum period is a challenging and learning period, where our usual routine is completely disrupted. It is completely normal to feel exhausted, out of breath, isolated or overwhelmed. Asking for help is not always easy, but a professional service adapted to YOUR needs can make all the difference. Where does relevailles come from? Historically, the term “relevailles” referred to the period during which parents recovered from the birth of their child. At that time, a doula, whose term comes from the modern Greek meaning “woman in service to” or “servant”, took charge not only of the care of the baby, but also that of the mother. Her role was to help with a good postpartum recovery by taking care of household chores, meals, and other children, allowing the mother to focus on breastfeeding, rest and healing. Over the years, this practice has been lost in the West, although it remains common in some regions of the world. At DoulasLove The postnatal doula listens to the realities of new parents, and is fully aware of the unique challenges of this period. She respects the rhythm and lifestyle of each family and strives to create a bond of trust, allowing parents to fully recover, both physically and psychologically. She offers listening and support on various aspects of the postnatal period. During her visits, parents can rest in complete serenity, knowing that the doula will take care of the baby. If baby can be temporarily entrusted, the doula can also help you with daily household tasks, such as folding a load of laundry, doing the dishes, sweeping, preparing meals or snacks for the days to come. She can also accompany you to an appointment or stay with baby at home while you are away. * A minimum of 3 hours per visit is required for travel. ** It is important to plan the time banks at least 3 days in advance, on the doula's calendar, taking into account her availability. *** The time banks can be divided into 3 or 4 consecutive hours.
